HiSur Carboxyl Beads are hydrophilic magnetic beads with carboxylic acid groups. These surface groups allow covalent amide bond formation to antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules via primary amine (NH2) groups. Oligonucleotides, antibodies or other ligands with amine groups can be easily coupled to the beads. Activation through carbodimide is required. Attribute to their very large surface area (about three times larger than that of the MonoMag Carboxyl Beads and unique surface coating, HiSur Carboxyl Beads exhibit superior binding capacity and low non-specific binding of protein or nucleic acids.

Ocean NanoTech’s HiSur Carboxyl Beads (1 µm) are also available in an easy-to-use kit format, allowing researchers to conjugate antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules of their own choice to these magnetic beads. With the engineered HiSur Carboxyl Beads and the specifically formulated conjugation buffers, the resulting conjugates exhibit superior binding capacity and low non-specific binding. The kit contains sufficient reagents & components for performing at least 5 conjugation reactions. Briefly, the magnetic beads are activated using carbodiimide and N-hydroxysuccinimide followed by conjugation to amino groups that are present on the target protein/ligand. The recommended protocol has been used to successfully conjugate bovine serum albumin, streptavidin or immunoglobulin to these magnetic beads.

Features:

  • Superior binding capacity
  • Significantly low non-specific binding to proteins and nucleic acid
  • Immediate and gentle coupling at room temperature and neutral to low pH
  • Comparable performance with Sera Mag Carboxylic Acid Modified and Sera Mag SpeedBeads Carboxylic Acid Modified

Applications:

  • Immunoprecipitation
  • Nucleic acid isolation
  • Assay development
